COVID-19 announcement

To our wonderful patients...

We hope you and your family are in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and our team safe.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.

You will see a number of changes when it is time for your next appointment.

The following are changes we have made to protect you and our team:

  • Each day our team members will have their temperatures taken, complete a Covid-19 Screening and will be required to stay at home at any sign of illness.
  • Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office. We will be sending online paperwork as well as offering online payment options on our website to prevent contact.
  • When you arrive at the office, please call by phone at 919-467-6111 and stay in your car until we are ready for you to come in.
  • Pre-screening will include: Taking your temperature, along with a series of questions regarding your health and possible recent exposure to COVID-19.
  • We ask that you wear a mask or cloth covering to your appointment.
  • We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter our office.
  • We have added cough shields at our front desk to allow for social distancing.
  • Please keep in mind that if any symptoms are found during the pre-screening you may be asked to reschedule your appointment.
  • We have provided our team with up-to-date training and education on COVID-19 risk factors and protective behavior.
  • High efficiency – Surgically Clean Air systems have been installed around the office. This system is the most advanced on the market - and helps filter up to .01 microns in size or greater (including viruses, bacteria, fungi, and chemicals all get scrubbed and clean just as in a surgical operating room in a hospital)
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients.
  • Our team will be supplied with properly fitted personal protective equipment: special face shields, special masks and surgical gowns.
  • Please do not bring family or friends to your appointment unless absolutely necessary. We ask that they wait for you in the car until the completion of your appointment. If you must have someone accompany you, they will be required to bring and wear a mask or face covering and be screened for COVID-19 as well.
  • "Pen-less" credit card transactions. No signature will be required for credit card receipts.

We will notify you when we are ready to resume our regular schedule of both doctor and hygiene appointments. Please keep in mind that we are working diligently to reschedule those appointments that were missed as well as keep current appointments for patients already scheduled. We appreciate your patience during this time.

To help us with our social distancing measures, we ask for you to please come alone to your appointments. The only exceptions to this rule are for children and disabled patients. However, we do ask that only a single parent or legal guardian bring their child to their scheduled appointment and that no other children are brought to the appointment, as well. If you can’t attend your appointment alone or if your appointment time doesn’t allow you to bring a single child, please let us know so we can reschedule your appointment for a time that works better for you.

Please note that we will do our best to run on time to reduce waiting times, but dentistry and healthcare can be very unpredictable at times, so please be patient with us and we will do our best to take care of you.

The systems we’ve implemented for everyone’s safety are new to us and I’m sure we will have some speed bumps as we begin using them. Please know, we are doing everything we can to take great care and accommodate you.
